POLLY BARTON, translator of Wen Yourou, is a translator of Japanese literature and nonfiction from London. She holds an MA in the Theory and Practice of Translation from SOAS, and was awarded first prize in the inaugural JLPP Translation Competition for her translations of Natsuki Ikezawa and Kobo Abe. Recent translations include Naocola Yamazaki and Misumi Kubo for the Keshiki chapbook series from Strangers Press. Her translation of Tomoka Shibasaki’s Spring Garden was released by Pushkin Press in 2017.
