Wondering why it took her so long to get writing full time, Melody has been by turns a health worker, social researcher and consultant, and labour educator. She has lived in Asia and Lao for a good many years, writing a book about elephants; in between writing about human geography, the environment and books for young Lao. She is also a regional Adviser for the Samdhana Institute.
